CAR has been given a sneak preview of some of the weird, wonderful and slightly creepy new technology that’s coming to Jaguar and Land Rovers in the not too distant future. The new tech - including gesture control, next-gen voice control and intelligent windscreens - was shown at an event in Whiteley, where Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) also announced details of its new four-cylinder engines.
So what should we expect from Jags and Landies of the future? Gesture control is the next big thing for Land Rovers and Jaguars say its engineers.
Mercedes MLC Teased
As far back as June we reported that Mercedes was planning on building a rival to the BMW X6 – which we dubbed the Mercedes MLC. Which made us conclude – when Mercedes announced it was adding a fifth model to its production line at it Alabama plant in the U.S. – that the car they would be churning out would be the M-Class Coupe.
The potent Porsche 911 GT3 R is bringing its vaunted blend of 480 hp and lightweight construction to the United States. But here’s the rub--only three are en route. The race car replaced the 911 GT3 Cup S in Porsche’s motorsports line and has become a staple of European competition.
